Areas We Address With Occupational Therapy

What's pediatric occupational therapy? It's helping kids do what they need to do at home, school, and when your family is out and about.

In practical terms, we're big-hearted problem-solvers who bring together expertise around development, daily routines, play, sensory processing, learning, and coordination.

Self-Care

From brushing teeth to sensory-friendly clothing, and a tear-free bedtime routine, we're here to build skills for the everyday tasks that matter to you.

Fine-motor

Your child builds the strength and coordination of the hands and fingers to support their handwriting, zipper-fastening, and game-playing.

Gross Motor

Building the connection between brain and body, we work on your child's coordination, strength, and body awareness.

Sensory

Learning, self-care, play, and family outings will improve as your child's brain is better able to organize the information from their senses.

Feeding

Supporting your child to improve their ability to chew, safely swallow, and explore new foods.

Attention

Meeting your child's needs and learning style so they can better focus, understand, and follow directions.

Self-Regulation

Teaching your child to better understand and respond to their emotional, energy, and sensory needs to reduce frustration, meltdowns, and unwanted behaviors.

Ways to Partner Together In Support of Your Child!

Understand Your Child: Evaluation

This is our process to understand how your child's strengths, challenges, and sensory experiences impact their daily life. The evaluation can include standardized and informal testing, review of records, parent interviews, and a teacher interview or school visits if necessary. Our ultimate goal is to come up with a plan to help your child and family make meaningful progress and lasting change.

Make Progress: Individual OT Sessions

Kids look forward to their visit each week because they have fun and feel celebrated. Your child works towards their goals with a combination of movement, sensory, and skill-building activities. Parents are actively included in sessions and everything we work on is tied back to your child's daily skills outside the clinic.

Build Your Toolbox: Consultation & Resources

We'll provide consultations and recommendations to you or other members of your child's team (teacher, support person, physician). We're available for consultations at our clinic or your location of choice, or by phone or video call.

“
Gandhi was a great occupational therapist for our 2 year-old son. He is autistic and she was able to help with his sensory needs. Gandhi was very helpful with educating us every step of the way. She was very patient and kind, even when our son was having a difficult time. He looked forward to his sessions with her and we enjoyed seeing his progress each week. She was a great fit for our family and we would highly recommend Gandhi!

When I think of Gandhi, I smile. Every week, my 13 month old daughter has an OT session with her. Gandhi is patient, compassionate, intelligent, reliable and trustworthy. My daughter has made significant improvements during the time she has been under Gandhi's care. I highly recommend Gandhi. My husband, who is an Occupational Therapist for school aged children, is also impressed with her skill and ability to work with our baby girl!
