Speech & Language Therapy Services

Helping your child communicate, connect, and participate. Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy in the Tri-Valley East Bay Area, supporting your child's speech, language, social communication, and feeding needs.

Communication Is More Than Words

Communication is how your child shares needs, ideas, and feelings, builds friendships, and takes part in everyday life. When that feels hard, it can be frustrating for your child and for you.

Our Speech-Language Pathology team looks at the whole child, including regulation, sensory processing, attention, and motor skills, so communication becomes meaningful and carries into home, school, and the community.

Speech + Occupational Therapy

One Child. Two Disciplines.

Because IPT offers both Speech and Occupational Therapy, our SLPs and OTs collaborate when your child's needs overlap, such as regulation, sensory differences, motor planning, or feeding. That may mean shared goals, coordinated caregiver education, or co-treatment sessions. Our goal isn't more therapy. It's the right support for your child.

Our Philosophy

We don't ask, “How do we make this child communicate more typically?”

We ask, “How can we help this child communicate more effectively, confidently, and authentically?”

Ways to Partner Together In Support of Your Child!

Understand Your Child: Evaluation

A Speech-Language Pathologist completes an individualized evaluation, typically 60–90 minutes depending on the areas assessed. We'll review your child's strengths, areas for support, and recommendations with you, along with a written report and plan of care when appropriate. A diagnosis is not required.

Make Progress: Individual Speech Sessions

There's no standard session, because there's no standard child. Your child might play a game, move through the sensory gym, tell stories, use AAC, or work through a real social situation. It looks like play, with intentional clinical reasoning behind every moment.

Build Your Toolbox: Caregiver Coaching & Consultation

You know your child best. We share practical strategies that fit naturally into daily routines, not another list of homework, and can consult with teachers and other members of your child's team.

Is Speech Therapy Right for My Child?

You don't need to know exactly what your child needs. Tell us what you're noticing, and we'll help you find the right next step.

An evaluation may help if your child:

  • Is often hard for others to understand
  • Gets frustrated when trying to communicate
  • Uses fewer words or shorter sentences than expected
  • Has trouble following directions or telling a story
  • Stutters or has difficulty with the flow of speech
  • Struggles with conversations or peer interactions
  • Needs another reliable way to communicate, such as AAC
  • Has chewing, swallowing, or feeding concerns
